Chant
What: This series of eight workshops offers an opportunity to experience the profoundly centring and grounding influence of meditative chant through chants drawn from many traditions — Buddhist, Hindu, Aboriginal, Jewish, Christian, Sufi, Pagan, etc. More info is available at http://voiceemergent.com/workshops/chant/.
2013 Dates: Next series begins Wednesday, January 16, 2013 and continues weekly, 7:00 – 9:00 pm, except for the first Wednesday of each month which is reserved for Come Sing.

Dance on Winds of Sound
What: This one-day workshop offers the best introduction to Voice Emergent‘s focus on healing and health. Discover a wonderfully simple, enjoyable way of using your voice to relieve stress and attune your mind and body. Highly acclaimed by participants across Ontario, this workshop has been described by one as “a turning point in my life!”

Sing Noel
What: The popular choral workshop series devoted to the music of Christmas. No previous choral experience is necessary. The music is simple but beautiful – choral settings of carols and ancient and modern texts, as well as unison and multi-voiced chants. The series culminates in the ChristmasFest performance.
2013 Dates: Wednesday nights (except for the first Wednesday of each month), from September 18th to December 18th, 2013, 7:00-9:00pm.

Cave chanting
What: “What an absolutely awesome day!” and “One of those lifetime events I will never forget!” Those exclamations are typical of the mail received from some of the hardy souls who came to chant in the spectacular Bonnechere caves on a sunny Saturday one year. Sing the Rainbow
What: A one-day “first steps” workshop in Overtone Singing — the ability to sing two or more notes at the same time. In a warmly supportive accoustic space participants experience the calming and energizing effects of the overtones produced by the group of beginners. Relieve stress, soothe the body, stimulate the brain, have fun!

Voice Improv
What:A Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon of chanting, song writing, poetry and voice exploration. This workshop offers an opportunity for you to creatively engage with your voice and open up — physically, emotionally, spiritually — to more fully express the authentic, multifaceted you.

Body & Sound Workshop
What: This gentle one-day workshop advances themes introduced in Dance on Winds of Sound. In the group as a whole and with partners, we continue the exploration of the pervasive influence of vocal tone on the body. In this workshop, Barclay draws on his extensive training in “Resonant Kinesiology”, a system of educational bodywork developed by Susan Gallagher Borg of Burlington, Vermont.
